Simon Church injured

Simon Church was injured early in yesterday's international qualifying match between Wales and Cyprus. Just a few minutes into the game (timings vary), he appeared to be nudged in the back and went down clutching his left shoulder. Unconfirmed reports say that it was dislocated.

In the old days this was a frequent affliction of Derek Ufton who sometimes had to play on with the shoulder strapped up, as there were no substitutes, although in the historic 7-6 victory over Huddersfield he had to leave the field at 0-0 and go to hospital where he was told the result. In total he dislocated his shoulder twenty times, 13 times on the left and seven on the right.

The rumour mill says that Derby and Brighton are interested in Church.

hes not called spongefoot for no reason then is he annon?his heart not in charlton so i say let him go and get him off our wage bill so we can get a better player how many shots on target does he need to score a goal probably the most frustrating player at cafc his goal record proves my point.Im sure im not the only one who cant stand church either let me add

Sympathy, obviously not your strong point JA. No matter what you feel about his football skills, a comment like this after an injury, is uncalled for, he is still a CAFC player.

apologies i just want see players give 120 per cent effort for the shirt

also never forgiven him when he made the shhhhh gesture when he scored in front of the home end or have people forgotten that one?

a player heart is obviously not in it when he does that to his own fans

debate then people is church good enough for Charlton lets have an honest debate no name calling etc I think personally hes not good enough for us ,hes not a striker and his record is very poor ,he can frustrate the most hardcore fan to the core .
I think he hasn't delivered and I bet u if he was honest with himself he will tell u that hes not in peeters plans so lets offload him off our wage bill how much is he raking home I wonder 4 to 5 grand a week me thinks for doing exactly what for the first team?.Ok he gives it his all when he plays but u can see his heart isn't in the club and peeters not stupid he can see church wants out why are fans backing this player when he scored a goal went shhh to the home fans behind the goal now if he hadn't done that then he wouldn't have got all this stick

I think that Church is an honest, hardworking player but I cannot deny that his ratio of goals to games is not what you would expect of an experienced international striker in the Championship. I was pleased when we signed him but I would not be upset to see him go if we had acquired suitable cover upfront. I would imagine that he's on £5k+ a week.

Thats 20k per month and 240k a year that 240k could have got a decent player with perhaps we can swap him for a leagueone or league 2 striker straight swap

Actually, JA, £5k+ per week is £260k+ pa. However, I obviously have no real idea of what he actually earns.

still way ott for a player with such a poor return i dont think we are getting value for money on charltons faith on him do u?i just want him off our wage bill and the money 260k of it sorry just had a curry when typing that before can be spent on a player WHO ACTUALLY WANTS PLAY FOR CHARLTON

If you're having trouble setting up your own blog JA, I'm sure there are plenty of people who can help.
