It would have been more of...Well Wynn, you said it. It would have been more of a surprise if Sir Rick had stated otherwise. I am one of those who is getting weary, nay more than disillusioned with the current opposition. It is getting tedious. And - this causes me great concern for the season ahead. Yes, I think we can all agree that things could be a whole lot better.
As always with a diatribe like this various positives are always ignored. I'm not going to try and list them. It is pointless. I do take issue with the list of players portrayed in such a bleak manner. No mention of goalkeepers in the list of players going forward or out. Either side can be as myopic as they like. Plenty of clubs are still in our situation of putting together a full squad for the coming season. RS said it himself. we now things beginning to move and this gives him the opportunity to put the final players that he wants/needs. In a way this is no different to any other season as we enter the pre-season stage.
I will echo AA's comments from his post yesterday. I just want to enjoy a good entertaining game of football a pie and some beer. I want to be able to believe that improvement is possible, promotion a practical opportunity.
We have some green shoots of optimism, glass half full - maybe. BUT and this is a big BUT if we have an ongoing continuation of the misery of last year then what chance do we give Russel Slade and his emerging squad. None. And that will only lead to further misery. It also gives some credibility to the morons who are willing to invade the pitch, throw smoke bombs and flares and such like, thereby dragging the club's reputation down even further.
Let's try and enjoy the coming season, let's give the green shoots a chance to grow, perish the thought we may even see more evidence of the REGIME further demonstrating that they get it and that they are willing to progress.Floydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617279850250081781noreply@blogger.com
