Chris Powell wants to sign a new contract at Charlton. His contract expires at the end of the season and he feels that the uncertainty is unsettling players and staff: Powell
Can't help feeling that the lack of the contract offer is more to do with the attempts to sell the club rather than a desire to see a managerial change. Would potential new owners see a benefit of being able to bring their own man in at minimal cost? However, it is no help to morale having the manager, his coaching staff and a large number of the squad all out of contract at the end of the season. It also means that some other championship club might just fancy their chances with a contract offer to Powell if they feel in need of a management change. And if that offer came from a club with potential then who could blame him for accepting it?
