AFC Wimbledon are hoping that a play off victory will put them in the Football League, one division below MK Dons. Among their squad is former Addick Jamie Stuart:

His spell at Charlton was marred by an encounter with white powder. I know this gave Curbs a lot of grief. This was a time when the club's resources were very stretched and volunteering meant more than cleaning the seats so I was covering for the official website and interviewed Curbs on the pitch after a game at Reading. He was clearly upset about the Stuart incident, I myself got annoyed given that we had lost and I stormed off and went through a speed camera, getting myself three points we didn't want.
However, Stuart has kept his career going so all credit to him.

Charlton 'frankly disinterested'
The Charlton Athletic XI that lost 2-0 to AFC Wimbledon yesterday was 'frankly disinterested' according to the Non-League Paper. Each half saw both teams field different sides.
According to the report, 'Phil Parkinson's team came into the game in the first half's final moments, with Guillem Bauza being denied by Brett Johnson and then getting his header all wrong two minutes later.'
Charlton put out a young side. These matches against non-league opposition are really a chance to try out younger players. With such a thin squad, we have to be careful about getting any of our key players injured.
I was expected a chorus of moaning on the lines of 'if we can't beat AFC Wimbledon', 'we're in a relegation battle now' etc., but the Glynne Jones list was quiet. That could be a new mood of realism or it could be apathy or exhaustion.
I long ago gave up trying to generalise to the season from pre-season matches, the one exception being the 'dress rehearsal' match against serious opposition which we can longer afford to host.

Stavrinou to return to Conference?
Alex Stavinrou has just signed a one year contract with Charlton. He was out on loan with Ebbsfleet for much of last season, and only appeared for the Addicks against Barnet and Hereford, but it looks as if he may experience another spell of Conference football with AFC Wimbledon if this report is to be believed: Dons
He may be accompanied by Yado Mambo. Charlton's pre-season tour of non-league grounds includes a visit to the phoenix club.
