Mark Clattenburg shock

Mark Clattenburg is to referee Saturday's FA Cup game between Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton. He has been somewhat controversial as a referee: Clattenburg

Clattenburg was born 'oop North and lives there so we can be assured that he will not be taken in by any complaints from southern softies and will not hesitate to award cards for dissent and simulation if there are any complaints about northern cloggers.

I think he is a terrible ref but thought he handled last nights ARSE/MANCU game really well. so there is hope

One ref is as good as another whether he is north west east or south it make diddly squad he has a job to do this ref has been in the news for an outburst. He is a professional and last night handled the game very well I don't see him being any different in our cup game he should impartial at all times and forget his roots

I suppose you get into controversy if you challenge top clubs. But if he is that good, why he is refereeing a match between two Championship clubs?

Possibly because there are only eight top class fixtures this weekend. so an abundance of refs {or whatever the collective noun is)
