Imps boss praises Adkins

Lincoln City manager Michael Appleton will base his selection for tonight's game at The Valley on whether minutes on the pitch or a ten days training schedule is in the best interests for them. He will get the balance right.

The Imps boss recognised the impact of Nigel Adkins who had inherited a very good squad for the level. Adkins is very experienced, a great motivator, always upbeat, confident and doesn’t seem to have many bad days. Under Adkins Charlton will never give in as evidenced by their late equaliser during the weekend game.

“They’ll be coming all-out attack to beat us. We’re aware of that; we get that. Again our away record remains outstanding and hopefully it will continue to be that case tomorrow”.

Lincoln have won 13 games away, drawn six and lost only three.  A win tonight would take them above Sunderland in the play off places.   They are third in the form table and Charlton are 10th.

Historically we have a decent record against them, having won seven and lost just two, including the away fixture this season when there was a dubious penalty decision.   Tonight could finally end our hopes of a play off place.
