Charlton will have top six budget

Charlton will have a top six budget and finishing in the play offs will be the minimum target says new manager Russell Slade: Target

Charlton chief executive Katrien Meire claimed at today's press conference that the bid for the club fronted by Peter Varney would involve a move away from The Valley: New location

It would appear that once again Katrien has been economical with the acualité: Varney demands retraction

VOTV editor Rick Everitt has tweeted that if there is no retraction, Varney will publish e-mail exchanges with Roland and Katrien from a month ago.

He has also said that the stuff about Charlton moving reeks of Richard Murray and goes back to 2009 and before as a potential hook for a buyer, it is off the table now.

Boost for stadiums as community asset

The owners of Oxford United's Kassam Stadium have failed in a bid to prevent the stadium being listed as a community asset: Kassam Stadium

This is a boost to the efforts of the Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust to secure The Valley being listed in a similar way, although whether it would stop a move to the Greenwich Peninsula is another matter. But it's certainly a status worth having.

Norwich to sell off ground?

One possible solution to Norwich's financial problems is to sell off Carrow Road to creditor Axa and lease it back, but the plan has divided Canaries fans: Norwich

The plan has divided Norwich fans. It would probably attract an even stronger reaction at The Valley, although probably the training ground would go first if there was an urgent need for fans. Some directors at Charlton were going to buy and lease back Sparrows Lane before the £7m cash injection was arranged.
