Charlton matters

Both Alan Pardew and Alan Curbishley have been linked with the vacant managerial vacancy at Reading. Steve Coppell for Charlton anyone?

Tomorrow I have to go a meeting at Charlton House in Charlton Road in Shepton Mallet in Somerset.

Yes Yes please Steve Coppell for us what a coup that would be. Better than sourpuss Parkinson.

Funnily enough, Steve Coppell always reminds me of Curbs...

Coppell for Charlton - yes please
About as much chance as satan getting frost bite plus he wants some time off and whoever gets lumbered with Charlton's threadbare squad would need to get to work right away.
Curb's name touted far less for the Reading job than usually when vacancies come up.
Let's hope Madejski gets all misty eyed nostalgic (loony) and offers Parky the manager's job cos of his playing history there - Charlton would then be stepping out into the unknown again but that would have to be a good thing, wouldn't it?

Coppell is getting on a bit (no offence to the post 50+ brigade) and has also said previously he plans to retire.

I'd stick with Parkinson purely because no manager is going to get any money to spend and we need some level of continuity.
