Charlton linked with QPR player

Charlton have been linked with QPR midfielder Martin Rowlands: Rowlands

The 32-year old made just four appearances for the Super Hoops last season. He was sent out to Millwall on loan for a month, but failed to make a single start. His original signing by QPR was a bit of a punt, although he has shown an ability to score goals from midfield.

If there is anything in this, it doesn't excite me very much. He does seem to have had more than his fair share of injury problems: Career

Isn't a creative attacking midfielder what we were after?

Well, yes, but how good is he? I am concerned about getting a cast off, but I will research him further.

A few years back he was a cracking player and tore us apart second half at the Valley under Pardew, after we took off Semedo. He also missed a penalty that day

Wyn,

I know that it is the time of year when the difference between rumours and and actual signings can vary greatly, but Sky has us linked with Oldham's Cedric Evina a defender who they signed from Arsenal on a short term deal after a loan period.

Following your recent blog regarding inside information and the lack of it are you able to give any more information either on him or if it is a likely deal.

My inside info is mainly in relation to the Midlands, but the signing of Evina does look very likely, indeed I am surprised it hasn't gone through yet. He is originally from Cameroon but I assume that he has EU citizenship via France.

Rowlands used to be a superb player. Long ago he was touted as a potential taget for the club as a young replacement for Kinsella. Very gifted on the ball he was a real favourite down at Loftus Road. Injuries are a concern but if we could afford him, he may be ideal.

Seems to have more to offer than I originally thought.
