What I have been picking up is that Portsmouth are strapped for cash. However, Preston have now given him permission to talk to Portsmouth.
A move to Portsmouth would be closer to his home town of Poole. A transfer fee of £750,000, which is what Preston paid to Exeter, is expected.
Richard Cawley notes that he is attractive to most top end League One clubs.
