Drained Bowyer has got greyer

Lee Bowyer is cautiously optimistic after yesterday's court decision and says that his discussions with Thomas Sandgaard have been positive: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/lee-bowyer-gives-his-reaction-to-court-verdict-as-paul-elliott-is-denied-an-injunction-paving-the-way-for-thomas-sandgaard-to-try-and-complete-charlton-takeover/

However, the shell shocked supremo said that he had been through too much and was tired.  He said: 'I’m just drained from all this craziness. It’s not normal. I’ve got greyer. It’s mad. It’s draining trying to juggle these millions of things behind the scenes that are nothing to do with me.'

Meeting seems to have resolved nothing

The EFL claim that they had a 'constructive' meeting with ESI, but once again had to spell out the requirements that need to be met for the takeover to be approved: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/efl-confirm-that-constructive-talks-have-taken-place-with-esi-and-proposed-new-charlton-athletic-owners/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=efl-confirm-that-constructive-talks-have-taken-place-with-esi-and-proposed-new-charlton-athletic-owners

The EFL have called for 'patience', but the clock is ticking.

Meanwhile an intervention by veteran CAFC secretary Chris Parkes has not been welcomed by most fans.

Lawyer Chris Farnell has issued a statement complaining about a campaign of abuse directed at him and his law firm by persons claiming to be Charlton supporters: https://www.onsidepr.com/ips-law-statement-re-charlton-athletic/

Sheffield Wednesday have received a 12 point deduction but it will take effect next season: https://www.efl.com/news/2020/july/efl-statement-sheffield-wednesday-verdict/

Birmingham City have appointed Aitor Karanka as their new manager.   There had been fears that Lee Bowyer might have taken the job: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53613208

Salako praises Bowyer

An interesting interview with former Addick John Salako who praises Lee Bowyer's achievements as manager at Charlton: https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/john-salako-issues-transfer-plea-as-he-assesses-incredible-job-done-by-charlton-boss-bowyer/

I have two memories of Salako.   One was when he scored an equaliser in a FA Cup game at home against Dagenham and Redbridge who were evidently a second team for many West Ham fans.  Saved initial embarrassment we then had a replay at Dagenham which we just managed to win.  Curbs told me subsequently that Dagenham had given Charlton 'a torrid time.'

The other was flying back from Liverpool to Luton after a game we lost with Curbs and the players on the plane.  John Salako was siting behind me and had a very intelligent conversation about football with a random passenger next to him.
