Curbs resigns

Alan Curbishley has resigned as manager of West Ham United. Presumably the dream job did not turn out to be a dream after all, particularly with the owners finding it more costly to find success in the Premiership than they had expected.

Now here's a scenario: a Pards-Curbs swop between The Valley and Upton Park. Only joking!

I hear that Jerome Thomas is out for three months at Portsmouth with a stress fracture of the back. Perhaps for once someone else wasn't thorough enough with the medical.

What would have happened if we had given Curbs the 12 million we made available to Dowie?Would the person whw appointed Dowie Reid and Andrew mills please turn out the lights before they leave

I thought Curbs was doing alright at WHUFC. They obviously were too impatient and he had an unsupportive board this season. I'm sure he will still go on to prove himself again at another premier club. I wish Curbs all the best, he is obviously a man of principle. Good luck Curbs !!!

I thought I read somewhere that Curbs was offered the full 12 milion transfer kitty, but decided to leave anyway.

The Dowie, Reid and Mills situation was partly to blame for our downfall. But I also feel Curbishley left an ageing with limited talent whose only chance of retaining it's Premiership status was by playing defensive football.

Curbs knew 12 mill would not resolve this, so he quit.

I don't know why i'm springing to Curbs' defence, but. At the end of season 2006/07 Curbs had one year remaining on his contract. The board asked him to extend his contract, he said 'no thanks, i intend to move on at my contracts' end' The board said 'then you better move on now'
So the £12M question is irrelevant. Curbs' had realised he had become stale at Charlton, a feeling many supporters shared.
And no, i don't want him back!
