Sir Chris looks forward to season

Chris Powell is particularly looking forward to the trips to QPR and Reading and also hopes to beat Millwall: Powell

The rumour mill has been quiet recently which is in many ways a good thing as we don't want any of our top players like Solly or Kermorgant targeted (one way of discounting a rumour is if it is repeated by Acworth). The publication of the fixtures list does mark the start of a more active phase of the close season, but I get the sense that the new financial fair play rules in the Championship are affecting the calculations that clubs make.

Stoopid question, but who is Ackworth? He seems to appear on a number of social media sites.

Jonathan Acworth first came into prominence as a regular correspondent to Voice of the Valley when he recommended various non-league players when we were in the Premiership, principally from Welling and Rushden & Diamonds. He has a reputation for ill-informed comments.

I do have to smile every time I see any reference to J. Ackworth. His letters in the VoTV were legendary and for some time I suspected they were part of a bigger joke. I often wonder whether he's aware of his reputation?

New fame for Acworth recently as he was quoted in a couple of papers in the wake of the Woolwich atrocity as a neighbour of one of the killers.
