Phil Parkinson has signed a one year extension to his contract which now runs until the end of the 2010/11 season. The board have showed their confidence in him, but he is still not receiving chants from the fans as Alan Pardew did. Some other bloggers also have doubts about him.
It will be interesting to see how he does in the Championship if he does take us up.

Curbs never received the chants either but we know who was the better manager.
I think the jury is still out on Parky for many fans. After a blinding start we seem to have hit a mediocre patch of form. I believe Parky is the right man and he will get us at least a play off place, but many expect automatic promotion and this run of results only helps to generate the 'he was part of the Pardew problem' theory.
