Kerkar signs

Salim Kerkar has signed for Charlton on a one year deal. More about him here: Kerkar

The 24-year old playmaker was formerly with Rangers and joined the Addicks on trial in the middle of July.

Can't believe he managed to find another club , sorry charlton fans but this guy is a total loser , came to rangers with a big reputation , one of the worst players I have ever seen in 30 years of watching football , no heart , falls over his own feet , no ball control , hope I'm wrong and he comes good for you , good luck this year , hope you do well

Ignore the previous 'thirty years of watching football' comment. The poster is either a liar or manifesting early stages of a brain disorder. Kerkar came to Rangers with next to no reputation. Having played for a lower-league French club (and even then, being loaned out by them) there wasn't much hope for him being a 'hidden gem'. However, he managed to bide his time and went on to feature in almost twenty games for Rangers. And if there's one positive attribute that no-one can deny he has (apart from that other deluded poster) it's his huge amount of heart; he never quits and he literally never gives up the chase.

What a pathetic reply that was , he played 16 games mostly from the subs bench , he got his chance and couldn't even break into probably the worst rangers team for 20 years , he did come with a big reputation , the Scottish press had him down as one of the most promising young players on the continent , never gives up the chase ? What have you been smoking , you have obviously never seen this guy playing , I remember the game where he had been on the park for 20 minutes and hardly got involved , the rangers fans were screaming to get him off the park , anyway , to the Carlton fans not the idiot in previous post , I really hope he does come good for you

Well it's hard to know what to make of the previous comments, I guess some liked him some didn't.

The stats tell us he played a total of 621 minutes for Rangers, if we divide that by the number of appearances he made (18), then we see he averaged 34 minutes per game.

He actually made 16 SPL appearances (11 as sub, and subbed 3 times) and 2 Cup appearances in which he played 90 minutes. He scored one goal for Rangers in his time there.

Is all this important? Probably not, the only thing that's important to me is that Chris Powell thinks he can add something to the team. He hasn't got too much wrong on the transfer front so far.

I guess it's a case of wait and see...

Correction, he was subbed in both his cup appearances too. Like to get my facts right!

Maybe the guy couldn't get motivated when he played for rangers but he certainly didn't set the heather on fire when he played in Scotland , in one game against Aberdeen he came on as a sub and set up a goal almost immediately after that he ran the show ,but can honestly say that was the only time I seen anything from him , his head seems to go down very quickly , maybe a good kick in the proverbial a*** will get him going , but like I said don't expect too much from this lad
