Haynes on his way?

Sky Sports News is reporting that Danny Haynes will leave Charlton when his contract expires next month: Haynes

A number of clubs are reported to be interested in getting him on a free which is not surprising. Whilst he was affected by injury problems, he scored some exciting goals for us.

Former Addicks keeper John Sullivan has joined Portsmouth on a two year contract, rather than AFC Wimbledon where he was on loan. He says that he is excited by the 'project'.

Leon Cort has been retained for another year at The Valley.

Congratulations!

Well done to our younger players on beating Tonbridge Angels 7-1 to lift the Kent Senior Cup. Let's hope they can parade it on Saturday. Michael Smith scored four of the goals and some are pressing for him to start on Saturday. However, I think we should take the match against Bristol City seriously as we want to finish as high up the table as possible. An appearance from the bench is another matter.

Congratulations also to Callum Harriott on being called up to the England u-19 squad. He has matured a lot this year and continues to develop as a player. Of course, ultimately, that means we may not be able to hold on to him.

John Sullivan has left the club and tweeted yesterday that he had met some great people at Charlton and the club would always have a place in his heart. Yado Mambo has also left. I am sure that there will be a future for them in the lower reaches of the Football League. Sullivan hopes to join Wimbledon, but Mambo's future is less certain.

How did loaned out players do?

We now have a number of players out on loan. John Sullivan was in goal for AFC Wimbledon in their 3-2 win over York City and got a 7 for his efforts from the Football League Paper. He set up one of their goals with a long ball.

Cambridge United beat Woking 1-0 and Nick Pope got the top score of 8 from the Non-League Paper. He wasn't troubled that much by a woeful Cards attack that had one of their players punching the pitch in frustration after he had put the ball way over, but what he had to do he did well.

Outfield players on loan do not necessarily get to start and Michael Smith came on in the 34th minute in Colchester United's 1-2 home defeat to Crewe. Unfortunately, he ballooned his best chance over and got a score of 6.

Bradley Wright-Phillips was brought on in the 55th minute at Carlisle after the Bees had gone 2-0 down which was the final score. He also got a rating of 6.

Eggert Jonsson in on loan

Olafur announces the news

Grindavik, Iceland: I am mightly chuffed to see that Charlton once again have an Iceland international in the squad, reports No.1 Iceland Addick Olafur Johansson.

Eggert Jonsson was signed by Wolves from Hearts at the beginning of the season but has only made seven appearances for the Black Country side.

Jonsson is a versatile player who is normally a central midfielder but can also play at centre back: Jonsson

Pravda is tweeting that Danny Hollands is likely to go out on loan. Third choice goalkeeper John Sullivan has joined Colchester United on loan.

Sullivan signs two year deal

John Sullivan has signed a two year deal with Charlton, a development that will be welcomed by most Addicks. Chris Powell told Pravda referring to his short spell as a loan player, 'He surpassed what I thought he would bring,' said Powell. 'He's very vocal around the training ground and is a good character around the dressing room.'

Powell made it clear in another interview that Nick Pope has been brought in from Bury Town as a development player and is not ready for professional football yet.

It is understood that he will compete with Ross Worner for the goalkeeping role. Fulham recalled Neil Etheridge because he was not getting a game.
