Icelandic player in

News from Iceland!

When our Iceland correspondent Olafur Johansson said this morning that an Icelandic international (32 caps) was on his way, I was sceptical, but it appears that Johann Berg Gudmundsson may be heading to Charlton: Berg

The winger was voted best player in the Icelandic Premier League in 2008, but more recently he has been playing in the Netherlands where he has been with AZ Alkmaar for five and a half years: Career

Rotherham United have shown a strong interest, but hopefully we have beaten them to his signature.

I think that most of us were satisfied with our last player from Iceland, Hermann Hreidarsson.
