Joe Pigott has been recalled from Gillingham ahead of Charlton's trip to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday: Pigott. Looks like a somewhat desperate measure.
Following their 5-0 drubbing by Derby, Forest are expected to announce the departure of Billy Davies (the hoped for replacement for Curbs) and the arrival of Neil Warnock from his Cornish smallholding. In the event Warnock decided not to accept the poisoned chalice with this report referring to 'strange goings on' at the club: Forest

Yes this does look desparate, and perhaps shows just how bad some of the transfer decisions made in January were.
Desperate indeed, I am a Gills fan and Joe really hasn't shown much at all when playing for us. Best of luck to the Addicks but if Piggot is your only card to play you will be in league 1 next season; hopefully Gills will stay up so look forward to playing you next campaign.
I would suggest that it is only common sense for Riga to get a look at all of the players who've made the 1st team this year in order to start making his assessments for the future needs. I don't think that it's any indication of desperation or of the standard of our recent signings.
