In my recent book Political Football I called for an independent regulator, as have many others, and Tracey Crouch endorses this view.
However, she also agrees that the regulator's scope should not be too wide to make the task manageable and focus on priorities. These should be financial regulation, governance and ownership rather than football issues such as VAR.
Football finance guru Kieran Maguire has commented: 'Lots of measured and reasoned observations in the interim Fan Led Review from in relation to football. No simple populist suggestions, far more deep than that, which can only be good for the game.'
