One goal defeat at the Cottage

Charlton went down 1-0 at Craven Cottage this afternoon in their final pre-season game with the team that played in the first 65 minutes likely to be the starting eleven against the Massives.  The team were wearing the smart third kit.

It was a cagey game with relatively few opportunities for either side.  Charlton were not particularly creative, but the midfield looked better than last season with Dobson and Morgan doing well while DJ showed good skills on the ball.

The Fulham goal came on 31 minutes when the Charlton defence was caught out by Francois allowing Carvaliho to score.

Further strengthening of the side is needed, but looks unlikely before next Saturday's game with loan signings likely to be sorted out towards the end of the window.   On the basis of what I have seen I don;t think that Gomes adds enough value to make it worth signing him.
