Done deal by Saturday?

Charlton supporters could be celebrating their new owners in the Welsh capital on Saturday according to the Telegraph:
Deal

I'm surprised how much pessmisim there has been among Charlton fans about the deal being completed, given that everything I have read and heard has suggested positive vibes, both about the likelihood of success and the new owners.

As Inspector Sands has suggested, Charlton supporters do enjoy a good wallow in gloom. Of course, I wouldn't like them to have the ridiculous excessive expectations of Spurs or Newcastle supporters, but there is a middle course.

I'm not expecting overnight success, but the club will have a future that is more exciting, more cosmopolitan and more in tune with the new economic realities of the 21st century.

Someone will no doubt point to reports in the FT and elsewhere on a slowdown in the Dubai economy, but this is really a slowdown in a very high rate of growth. For the new owners, the point about Charlton is that a relatively small investment for them should bring good returns in terms of prestige.

We have had too many years of snatching failure from the jaws of success for us to be anything other than pessimistic.

Come on Kappacino Kid we have had eight years in the Premier League. It's far from all bad.

I cant say to much about Pards,as I havent seen to much of the team these past 2 years. But,he does need a decent swing at the job, and to date its all been racked up against him.
Dowie in his wisdom used 11 million quid to buy relegation, most teams when they come down do at least have a nucleus of players to get them back up.We didnt, pards has had to shuffle with thin means to attempt to build a team good enough to go up.
Like it or not while in the premier we were treading water,Murray and the board have done more than any of us could of expected over the years, but money talks now, footballs changed, the club, if its to survive, does need stronger backers,or we will slowly but surely slide back to the 80's.
I hope, as most do,that any new owner understands the heart and soul of what Charlton is about,if they do,then they have my support.

It is the lot of most Addicks fans to be pessimistic. We do have to bear in mind though that once due diligence starts, that's a pretty firm confirmation of an intention to purchase and the selling business does not open it's books etc unless there is a really serious deal in the offing

Whilst agreeing with Bingaddick, I have also read somewhere that the due diligence procedure would take 30 days. My daughter was in a "due diligence" situation which took a lot longer, possibly for a reason that won't be the case for CAFC.
