Helguson loan off

Word from Bolton suggests that this projected loan is off and that he will join the Super Hoops after all:
Helguson

Phil Parkinson has a plan to tackle the left back problem which has plagued the side all season given the erratic nature of Youga's play by bringing in Jay McEveley from Derby County:
McEveley

Non-loan players are going to be a clear minority in the side soon.

Fortunately a team is limited to naming a maximum of 5 loanees in its match day 16.The 'emergency' loan window closes tomorrow until January so we will have a respite for a while.

Jay McEveley is rumoured to be arriving in SE7 with Varney possibly being used as bait to tempt Derby.

Lets hope no-one from Derby has been watching our games, in which case they may take Varney.

Don't know about McEveley but apparently was 'impressive' in is last loan spell at Preston and presumably he is felt to be an improvement over Basey.

I'm not sure signing McEveley is a good sign. I know Varney has been disappointing but I'd hoped any new manager would be able to get the best out of him where Pardew couldn't.

The general consensus is a new manager needs to get the best out of the current squad, perhaps Parkinson is too close to the situation as his solution is current players not good enough bring in more loanees.
