Another move down the North Kent Line

After Josh Wright's move to Gillingham, another Charlton hopeful has taken a trip down the North Kent line. Charlton midfielder Rashid Yussuff has joined Blue Square Premier Ebbsfleet United on loan for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old, who has made one appearance for the Addicks first team this season, goes straight in to the Fleet squad for Saturday's trip to Kettering Town after previously playing in the Conference for Northwich Victoria.

He will thus have the experience of playing the Poppies (known elsewhere in Northamptonshire as the Ploppies) at the Rockinghorse Road stadium. It has been alleged that Kettering once funded a space probe to Uranus to see if there was any intelligent life there, as there wasn't any in Kettering.

It's the A-Line Insurance Arena these days Wyn.

Also Kettering were the first team in these islands to carry a sponsor's name on their shirts as well as having the country's first cantilever stand.

Have never heard of the Ploppies jibe before. The common taunt in these parts is Kettrin Down.

I was intending to watch Rothwell Corinthians v Long Buckby tomorrow but will have to consider re-routing to watch Toks. The snag is the £14 Kettering want for a seat!

Hope Josh and Toks do well. Not sure I'll recognise many of the kids at Bristol City tomorrow, having read the official website - but looking forward to it. Part of the longer term plan to come back from tier 3!

Hopefully my second team, Dover Athletic, will become the first club promoted tomorrow as well - 15 points ahead in the Ryman Premier, with 6 games to go, having just been promoted last year. Great achievement by manager Andy Hessenthaler.

Might then watch the England friendly on Setanta, though the pub might then seem more attractive!
