Curbs now out of frame for Hull
Contrary to earlier reports, Alan Curbishley is not on the short list to replace sacked manager Phil Brown at Hull City. In the past it has always been said that he would not go to a northern club, but he has been out of management for some while and has settled his dispute with West Ham so the initial reports had some credibility. At least giving half-time team talks on the pitch would not be his style. But keeping the cash strapped club in the Premiership would be a challenge, although he could claim that he has brought a club straight back up. But someone else will be in the manager's chair by Wednesday.
