Charlton cling on for win

Charlton beat Bolton Wanderers 2-1 at The Valley last night to go 7th in the table. The Addicks had just 38 per cent of the possession. Charlton had one corner to 14 for the visitors.

The Addicks took the lead with their first real chance. Yoni Buyens spotted Tucudean's run behind the Bolton defence and played a clever ball over the top for the Romanian, who raced towards goal and fired beyond Andy Lonergan.

The Bolton players did not let their heads drop as former Charlton defender Dorian Dervite headed narrowly over from a corner before Beckford missed the ball when in front of goal.

But Charlton doubled their lead early in the second half when Tucudean squared a pass for captain Jackson to slot home. Moxey gave Bolton hope when he drilled in from the edge of the area, and Dervite came close to heading in a late equaliser, but Charlton displayed great team spirit and kept their defensive shape to hold on for the win. Ben Haim played a key role in the defensive effort.

Buyens is suspended for Fulham after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season.

Derek from Dymchurch writes, 'Let's face it, apart from a few patches, we were outplayed for most of the game, but once again we managed to ride our luck. A special word for Cousins who never gave up chasing and harrying.

Are our players fit enough?
Bournemouth's certainly were.
Bolton's seemed to be.
Whenever I listen to the CAFC commentary I hear, our midfield player/players, looks/look tired.
They play well in very short spells, then fade.
Great to get the win, but not sure if the the team will complete the 90mins at Fulham.
Was Roland there?

how long can we keep hold of jordan and what is he worth?

split views on jordan some say he was annon others like me who saw him on stream last night courtisey of wiziwig saw him have an outstanding game.I like how he chases every ball even when playing out of position.Bikey was outstanding also and should win man of the match award -but i felt if im honest we struggled in the last half an hour to gain another goal.
Where has this come from?I would love to see charlton for one game dominate the match from start to finish at the valley instead of playing to deep and sitting back,we also conseed a lot of corners as of late for some reason ,peeters needs to address this in training so we can dominate games instead of sitting back.I also would like to see players playing in their normal positions like move jordan to the center of midfield and frank perhaps to the right of midfield. We are still i think 3 players off from being a superb championship team i would have signed Andy Reid back who still loves the club and play him on the wing and a back up striker surely their are some strikers who want come and play for charlton?.I for one hope that peeters stays at charlton and finishes off his job he has started instead of jumping to the mother ship rumours at the ground last night lead us to believe.Onwoods and upwoods and hopefully another 3 points at Fulham friday.
