Former Charlton defender Ezri Konsa is expected to sign for Aston Villa today in a £12m deal. I suppose he might appear at the Chris Solly testimonial.
We sold him for £2.5m to Brentford in 2018 and as far as I know there is no sell on clause. The deal was driven by Roland's desire for cash flow. Richard Cawley of the SLP has tweeted, 'The talk at the time was that Roland Duchatelet was prepared to take more money up front instead of getting a percentage of a future sale.' However, Cawley has cautioned that this is not definitive and he is making further inquiries.
All credit to the team at Charlton for developing him as a player and good luck to him in the Premier League.
There are reports this morning that Portsmouth and Sunderland have renewed their interest in Jason Pearce who has 12 months to run on his contract. Charlton are engaged in contract talks with him. He has now signed a contract lasting until 2021.
