Just offering Lyle Taylor what Brentford offered him in the summer transfer window would not necessarily work according to Lee Bowyer. Premier League clubs could be interested in him in January and Bowyer thinks he is capable of playing at that level. Bowyer emphasised that he has to work within the constraints of a budget: No doubts about his ability to play in top flight
If Taylor scores against Brentford tomorrow he will be the first Charlton player to score in the five opening games of the season since Fred Whitlow in the 1929-30 season. He went on to score 27 goals in that season but was sold to Exeter City for £250 in 1931.
