Reid offer increased

Sunderland have apparently increased their offer for Andy Reid to £4m which will be difficult for the board to refuse. Charlton have been getting results without him, although it could be argued that it would have been easier to unlock Stoke with him on the pitch.

Chris Dickson has apparently injured his hamstring in a training ground incident (which according to one account allegedly involved Lloyd Sam's shorts) and will be out for the rest of the season.

Actually reid is the only attacking player we have who can be influential inthe middle of the park, and we have only won 2 games since he got injured, out of 9

I see from a despondent Pardew interview on the club website that the clubs dire financial position has forced the sale. Lets hope the Rob Lee scenario is not about to repeat itself.

If it's Reid gone for £4m and Halford in on loan that might make sense; a swap never did. I think it took us some games to work out how to play without Reid, with hoofing it up to Iwelumo on his own hardly inspiring. Sad to hear about Dickson but we are better equipped now up front and if we can get another in on loan as Pardew suggests you have to say that overall we could come out stronger. Maybe the board told Pardew that getting Gray meant someone had to go and if McLeod couldn't recoup some of the money they had to look at other options.
