Charlton went back to their customary 5th position in the Championship last night without kicking a ball. Crystal Palace's 1-0 defeat at Leicester meant that the Addicks went ahead of them in the table, not on goal difference but on goals scored.
It is most likely where Charlton will be after tonight's game. The Addicks would have to beat Stoke by a substantial margin to go above them in the table. Only if Ipswich won at home and Charlton lost would they overtake the Addicks.

Hang on Wyn, a substantial margin?
According to the BBC Sports website, their goal difference is +11, ours is +8. So, by my reckoning, a 2-0 win for us would put us above them.
Generally speaking, I don't think that two goals usually counts as a substantial margin. Mind you, it might well seem like one tonight. We'll see, eh?
Oh, and a belated well done to the Brakes. The Foresters gave them a hard game from the sound of it.
You're right, a two goal margin is not a substantial one but I am not confident that we will get it tonight. I would settle foe 2-1 or 1-0 rather than the 1-1 forecast by Killer.
Brakes are away to Chavtown tonight.
