A Sunday newspaper carried a story yesterday linking former Chelsea coach Avram Grant with Charlton. Director of football could be a possible role.
I can find no basis for this story. Grant was the subject of another hoax recently when he was falsely linked with a post as technical director to the Ghana national team.
The story could have arisen in this way. Journo has light bulb moment as he realised that Standard Liege hired an Israeli coaches. What Israeli coaches are available? Hey presto! You have a story.
Richard Cawley of the SLP has tweeted that it looks as if the signing of Standard Liege Iranian striker 'my name is too big for my shirt' aka Gucci is going ahead. This has been in the offing for some time.
