Dragging the club into the 21st century

Outgoing chairman Michael Slater discusses his legacy at Charlton in an interview with the South London Press and talks of dragging the club 'kicking and screaming' into the 21st century: Slater

There is no doubt, as Slater argues, that football today is a business and he praises Roland Duchatelet's acumen. Exactly what his style will be remains to be seen but, despite negativity in some quarters, it is too early to form a judgment.

In an interesting interview with the BBC, Chris Powell says that he is still uncertain what direction the club will take under the new owner: Powell. He is still trying to build a relationship and is adjusting to a new structure which will involve more Belgians in the day-to-day running of the club.
