Dervite is a real loss

It looks as if Dorian Dervite is going to sign for Bolton and I regard him as a real loss, particularly after a strong end to the season.

Dervite is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at The Valley. Charlton offered Dervite a new deal to extend his stay at the club, but they were unable to agree terms with the Frenchman. A number of other Championship clubs were interested, but he is expected to sign a three year contract with the Trotters.

According to one report, Bolton have offered to double his wages. They want to sort out their signings now as they may be hit by financial fair play sanctions in December.

Press reports from Bolton are claiming that the signing has been made: Dervite. Interesting that Bolton have now made three signings and we have only signed a development player.

Cedric Evina has announced that he has left the club.

Expecting Hamer and Morrison to go too... We should have offered them deals last summer... I blame the old board! Shame

We should have tried to keep Devite but not too worried abouth either Hammer or Morrison both whilst playing well in various games have also been very error prone in others and cost us points. You have to have consistancy at the back if you want to make it to the Premier League and neither Morrison or Hammer have that!
We should give Pope a chance as being our No 1 and look for two other good centre backs if Devite goes.

Regrettably, I don't think that the exodus will stop at Dervite, Morrison and Hamer. We obviously can't/won't match the salary expectations of our better senior players and it looks likely that we will be relying on youngsters to move up to fill their shoes. Let's hope that we can hang on to 'proven' youngsters like Poyet.

Dervite is a real loss:he had a fantastic second half to the season & played a huge part in keeping us up. Time & again he bailed both Morrison & Hamer out after another one of their customary misunderstandings & he was technically far superior to any other Centre-backs we have as well as a good reader of situations.

It's a big & worrying loss & I'm sorry to see him go. Morrison is undoubtedly a hard worker but we need more than that.

Has he gone? Nothing on Twitter, the club website or elsewhere.

Bolton News claims that he has signed, I will add the link to the article. The official site is the last place to carry any news.
