Koen Casteels rumours

The rumour mill is linking Hoffenheim keeper Koen Casteels with Charlton. The 6ft. 5 ins. keeper is a member of the Belgian World Cup squad, having appeared nine times for Belgium's under 21s. He broke his shin towards the end of the season, but has evidently recovered.

I would emphasise that this is a rumour for which there is no independent verification, but it is an interesting possibility.

I have also heard of some rumoured interest in Mark Schwarzer. Idea is that he comes in as number 1 and mentor to Nick Pope, with the hope/expectation that Pope will take the number 1 spot by the end of the season. Schwarzer wants to stay in London and sees us as a perfect place to play some football at a reasonable level now that Hamer has left the building.

The Schwarzer idea sounds plausible, I thought that the idea of a veteran goalkeeper to mentor Pope would be a good one.

I'd be staggered if we could afford Schwarzer

Now we have a "yes man" in charge, I am expecting to see Thuram between the posts..!

Belgium owned, Belgium managed and probably Belgium player imports - otherwise the 'model, doesn't work. Let's just relocate to Ostend and play in Belgium.
