Don't invade pitch!

Sue Parkes, wife of club secretary Chris Parkes, has been urging fans not to invade the picture at Saturday's game against Blackburn Rovers, but her thoughts have now reached the SLP: No pitch invasion

A pitch invasion could be a fatal "own goal" in the campaign to oust RD and KM. Not to be advised. Get behind the team and support them. There will come a time when RD 's tenure will be consigned to the annals of history. Football club "owners " are merely temporary custodians of the Clubs....remember Mark Hulyer or John Fryer ?.....Ask Lord Sugar about his time at Spurs ! You could also ask Peter Swales ( Man City )but that would be very difficult as he's now dead !

Sue Parkes has managed to express my feelings much more concisely than I could have managed. Time for real Charlton supporters to get behind the team and make some noise in support to quieten the "2%" who insist on venting their spleens at the owner & CEO.

As ExpatCyp suggests, owners and managers are all only temporary. Some are good; some not so. I've seen a few of both types in my 60+ years of following Charlton. Charlton Athletic will go on & on, whoever is at the helm, & however good they are at steering the ship.

I may have said it before, but at the moment I feel more let down by our supporters than I do by the owner & CEO.

Come off it Mr Winny! I've also been visiting The Valley for 60+ years but I've never been this dispirited about an owner's detached mentality or lack of ability to appoint or resource staff capable of achieving discernible goals with which I can feel any affinity. I can't see where you're coming from, although I agree that invading the pitch or haranguing the players (if they at least appear to be trying) is counter productive. Any other things to shake up the regime, step it up!

Mr. Winny, supporters have held totally legitimate and non violent protests for very good reasons and if you do not know why by now you never will. The fact that you feel 'More let down by our supporters than I do by the owner and CEO' says it all. Unbelievable.

Personally, I think Ms. Parkes should have learned lessons about demeaning supporters, especially name calling, from Ms. Meire. She could have easily expressed her concerns about the ramifications of a pitch invasion without resorting to personal insults. Very poor judgement and it will never be forgotten.

Presumably Mr Winny is one of the "select" who enjoy their Prawn Sarnies at the CEO's behest.
Mr Winny - like yourself I have supported this club, through , mostly thin times, for 55 years and made my commitments by having a Season Ticket since 1968, each and every year.
This though will now be the last, until "Mork & Mindy" are no longer part of CAFC.
Quite how you can feel more "let down by SUPPORTERS" - Yes SUPPORTERS - not simply "customers" is quite alarming really.
We are a laughing stock of the Football League - and that is thanks to the trio you feel more affinity to.
Sue Parkes is quite correct and on NO ACCOUNT should anyone feel that encroachment onto the pitch , at anytime on saturday, is acceptable - it is'nt.
However protesting before & after are acceptable - in the manner the previous protest was held after the Forest fixture.
Those protesting were from all generations of supporters - myself included, because even in those "thin times" there was a backbone & soul to this club of OURS - those characteristics have been swiftly removed - thanks to Dutchalet/Meire - with henchman Murray not too far behind.
Take the blinkers off Mr Whinny - the picture is dark ,dank & squalid.

I cant agree with Mr Whinny, I have also supported the club for 55 years, through thick and thin. I DO agree there should be NO pitch invasion, but demo's before and after are more than acceptable. The current regime are ruining our club and running it into the ground. I do not know of any other businessman who can see their business in trouble and does very little to stop it. If we go down Mr RD will lose circa £7m from outside revenue alone, so why not spend £3m now, bring in 2/3 quality players to at least try to rectify the situation. If it works he will save himself £4m, if it goes wrong he still has a group of players he can sell to recoup, but I suggest he would be foolish to do that, after-all we are asking him to spend a % of his wealth to help the club be successful and then make his money going up, not lose it going down. Sadly Mr Rd thinks he knows better, in this instance he is so wrong it is insane!!

As I have said before, everyone is entitled to an opinion and I don't expect nor wish to prevent people saying what they think. I cannot see though how taking such a militant stance towards the person who has used his own money to buy the club and then again dipped into his own pockets to improve facilities at the Valley & the training complex is justified on match days. How do you expect our team (however good or bad you may think they are) to respond positively under such waves of abuse?

I know I'm not alone in my views, and whether I'm in a minority or not I will continue to show proper support for the team. Just don't start believing that the protesters are doing it on behalf of all Charlton fans.

Quite unbelievable disdain shown to cafc fans by Ms Parkes... I suppose she is part of the regime/on the payroll and afraid to speak out at the systematic dismantling of a once great club.

Do you not agree that the conduct of RD and KM has alienated the supporters ? The "customers" have every right to lawful and peaceful protest. I side with those who will support the team whereas RD and KM like others before them will be here today gone tomorrow!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As paying fans some will feel they are entitled to boo and jeer our team. My personal view is that I will never boo a team I support. Everyone is entitled to protest but if the pitch invasion goes ahead and this results in a point deduction which results in our relagation then personally I will hold these so called fans more responsible for our exit from championship football than Mr Duchalet. By all means have your protest but if you are true fans then please do not invade the pitch and put our club at risk.

A pitch invasion is wrong way to protest we be fined and if worse docked points which will make us in a bigger hole than we are already in.Bolton have gone into admin today with debts of 180m so at least their be one team below us!.The only way to get roland out of our club is if we keep protesting outside the west stand or north if the reports getting back of bully boy stewards on sat are true.We also need media intervention something like a debate live on tv like question time where top charlton fans like ellis farmer,me seb lewis and rick are the main guests plus a celeb fan involved like jim or dave berry on the pannel this effects every charlton fan across the country we need action and quick the media is the best route to take.
I be hopefully down floyd road with a camera to interview fans for the cardiff game get your opinions some much needed air time if not cardiff i defo have it in place for the reading game end of feb

I don't believe that at any point anyone was seriously suggesting a pitch invasion.

Unfortunately, sa far as the regime is concerned, we are in RD world. This means we can only bring in players who are either Belgian or current or former network players. Similarly, we can only bring in managers who are network, former network, Belgian or known to RD.

This is such a small pool of talent, that we can see where is has got us - second from bottom, the worst goal difference out of the 92 league clubs, and a laughing stock.

Unless there is either a change of tack from the owner, or a change of owner, I can't see what will stop us dropping further and further down to League 2 and beyond.

I don't know where the idea of a pitch invasion came from. If the club dropped out of the Football League, it would have to be closed. The infrastructure would be too expensive to support at that level.

do it through the media with bad publicity he soon lose interest and flog it when the going gets tough
