Unhappy Valley

The view from Huddersfield as Charlton head north for this evening's fixture: Unhappy Valley

What has happened about the much mooted Jose Riga reappointment is uncertain, but it may be that he does not want to return.

Jordan Cousins will not be available tonight, but is expected to be fit for Saturday's match at Hull: Jordan Cousins

Chris Solly is expected to play tonight after being rested at Colchester. Cup tied Callum Harriott will be available and Harry Lennon is expected to return to central defence to partner Roger Johnson.

At the Valley earlier in the season Huddersfield won 2-1, so with three of the last five-matches in all competitions won and just two of the last eight meetings with Charlton lost (three won) the perennially lower mid-table Town will expect to win.

Odds: Huddersfield 4/6, Draw 11/4, Charlton 17/4.

From my reading of the situation, Riga left last time as RD did not want to give him the resources he asked for to sort the squad back then.

At blackpool, he had no squad when he started and no funds to bring players in, he did his best scraping the bottom of the barrel and managed to scrape a match day squad just in time for the start of the season, but without any time to gel or any preseason, thhey got off to a bad start that got worse, so that was hardly his fault. As for Metz as far as I remember they were not in a good state either.

I have no issues with Riga comming back as long as he gets the resources to sort the balance of the squad

Pretty sad state of affairs when a coac fired 4-5 times in last few years won't accept a job. Even he sees how bad it is.
