Alan Curbishley was on the Football League Show tonight. Asked about the situation at Charlton, he said that the players were feeling the pressure from the fans. Normally there was a very good atmosphere at the ground. Fans needed to get behind the club and lay off the demonstrations until the summer.
The question of who would be manager at Derby County after the summer was discussed. The odds were displayed and Curbs was asked why he wasn't there.
Earlier on 606 a West Brom fan repeated the old canard that Charlton fans had forced Curbs out because mid-table in the Premiership was not good enough for them.

I couldn't agree with Curbs more. Surely our players ought to expect us to support rather than undermine them. Playing at home used to be an advantage and needs to be again. Protests throughout the matches may give satisfaction to some, but they are likely to aid our departure from the Championship.
Firstly 99% of fans loved curbs and I was at his last home game when the whole ground were on their feet applauding him for good few minutes. Absolute nonsense that he was forced out and fans were glad to see him go. However I disagree with his comments on this season. He hasn't been subjected to the rubbish served up this season. I have seen 13 home games without a win. As a season ticket holder i'll boo and criticise whoever I want at the moment as they ALL deserve it. Owner is a joke. CEO is embarrassing but players have to take some responsibility for the woeful performances.
Charlton fans forced curbs out is up there with the Yeti and Loch Ness Monster. Drivel. Curbs is a legend and 99% of Charlton fans were sorry to see him leave but after 18 yrs understood things were bound to change eventually.
Curbs is wrong about fans protests though. We were rubbish anyway. I have seen 13 home games without a win and reserve the right as a paying 'customer' to criticise the owner, CEO and players for one of the worst seasons in living memory (CAFC fan of 30 yrs!)
Sadly, AC is out of touch. Not surprising considering he hasn't worked for 6/7 years....
Sounds like you like the way the club is being run, I've been coming down to the Valley for 40 years and the club has become a complete embarrassment from top to bottom. There are players in the team that need to take a hard look at themselves.Enjoy Roland's experiment Roy
As for Curbishley calling for the protests to stop it’s embarrassing, but he’s so out of touch with what’s going on at the Valley he’d be better to talk to Sir Chris quick before continuing making a fool of himself!
Not content last year by continuing with a very ill-conceived business plan, subjugating us to sub-standard players and managers that very nearly got us relegated. The regime has tried the same plan again this season leaving us with even worse players past their best, some youngsters not mature enough for the battle in the Championship and some player so poor I find it difficult to comprehend (and a lot of these on long contracts!)
The people responsible for their recruitment should hang their heads forever in shame.
The regime have forgotten the old adage: ’ If you do the same old thing, you get the same old result!’
So something has got to change before our club still totally ruined, hence the protests.
Some may wish to sit on their hands and do nothing, that’s fine, but please don’t get in the way of those wishing to save our club.
to much time surrounded by pricks from kings road sadly out of touch
13 games without a home win was like curbs last season in charge if i recall i got myself a season ticket that year saw one home win all sodding season that last year he left it was stail management under curb boring 4-5-1 formation at home to crap opp and guess what 9 out of 10 times he would lose the game
