With Leeds United close to a takeover deal by a consortium that will release transfer funds, they are seeking to set up a deal that will secure the services of Cameron Stewart.
They are attempting to secure Stewart by signing him on emergency loan with Football League rules preventing the winger from making a permanent transfer to Elland Road. Leeds intend to hand Stewart a 93-day deal after appearances for the Tigers and Charlton this season ruled out the possibility of the 22-year-old accepting an immediate, full-time contract.
But United are likely to reach an agreement which guarantees Stewart a permanent move when his deal at Hull City expires in the summer.

So new guy cant afford to sign him?
When are we going to sign long term contracts for Powell,Kermie,Stephens etc...
Owned Club a week now and no sign of locking players in,just inter club transfers..
This is beginning to worry me.........
Read the article, we can't sign him permanently because he's already been at two clubs, sick of reading negative comments! Give them a chance before putting them down!
Leeds fan here. I'm pretty sure you can sign him as he was on loan at your club but we can't. Your takeover was completed quickly and with ease so I am sure everything will be fine. Do you guys even want Stewart? I've heard mostly mixed reviews.
once again negativity reigns - further evidence of the worse thing about being a charlton supporter is other charlton supporters. We have a new owner. Evidence suggests that he is successful in what he does. To be successful you have to be considered, work to a strategy and avoid knee jerk reactions like taking on a guy who hardly set The Valley alight when he played. Let Leeds have him. As for contract discussions, with agents involved and peoples livelihoods on the line, a week is hardly a concerning delay ..
With Murray advising him we are doomed all doomed I tell you. How the hell did he get Chsirman role what a f:: king mess. It will all end in tears .
Seriously! Richard Murray is Charlton. Some people have short memories. I for one am delighted that he has retained an important guiding role at the club. Take a look around you - the 'mess' that Charlton are in is hardly unique.
(Anonymous)Comments slating Richard Murray are just from trolls keen to wind up willing victims - don't take the bait and they'll crawl back under their stones soon enough
