Coyle set to replace Riga

Owen Coyle is being lined up to replace José Riga at Blackpool: Blackpool. Coyle must be desperate to get back into management given the state of affairs at Blackpool.

Coyle is out of the frame, but Gary Rowett has now turned down the job although Riga has not actually been sacked: Rowett

Oyston has now criticised Riga for his 'unprofessional attitude' in returning to Belgium, but he should perhaps consider how professional he has been as an owner: Oyston

Riga hasn't had the best of years, to say the least. He was respected at Charlton and deserved better. Blackpool fans also deserve a better owner. Quite what owner Karl Oyston's strategy is remains unclear, but at this rate ambitious neighbours AFC Fylde will be passing the Tangerines as they go down the Football League.

When I was in Lancashire at the weekend, I was told Fylde is bankrolled by someone who wanted to buy Blackpool with a business partner who put his money into Fleetwood Town.

I was in area of strong Morecambe support (yes, really) and was chatting to one or two of their fans. I can't remember ever playing them. One thing they have in common with us is that football magazine Four Four Two forecast they would be relegated. They are currently in the automatic promotion places.

Oyston has reported made around 50m during his time in the prem pool fans said to me that he put the money towards his business adventures and not blackpool fc its a great shame seing a fantastic club like this go tits up because of crap chairman. The fa should step in and oust chairman like oyston from footy clubs we suffered the same with our previous regeme.

I am a Charlton supporter living in the traditional seaside town 0f Morecambe (which has one of the best views in Europe, looking across the Bay to The Lake District). I was in The Globe Arena (Morecambe's Lovely little stadium}for a prostate cancer charity football event .yesterday (Sunday 7th Sept) The weather was warm and sunny (yes, the sun does shine quite brightly in Lancashire. Morecambe must be one of the friendliest places on Earth and the club is held in great affection by the residents up here. Being Morecambe's Vintage Seaside Festival Weekend, we even had a flypast of Lancaster bombers over the town. Rest assured, In an area of MUFC, MCFC and LFC as well as Morecambe, I keep the CAFC "flag" proudly flying!

I had a great weekend in Arnside, the weather was superb, I wish I could have stayed longer - an area I have never visited before. I would agree that people are very friendly. It's good to know that the CAFC flag is kept flying high! My friend in Arnside is a Pompey supporter.

BTW, have we ever played Morecambe? I didn't think so, certainly we have never been in the same division and I can't remember a cup fixture.

No Wyn, we have never played Morecambe. They were traditionally a none league club not so many years
ago. I'm not sure how long they have been in League 2, I will need to Google it. If ever you are in this area again you must get in touch (07788614506)and pay me a visit to see what you get for your money (housing wise). I bought a house here for "peanuts" that would have cost in the region of £1m in Greenwich or Blackheath. It is an unspoilt Victorian 3 storey typical stone fronted seaside house and is absolutely stunning. By the way, unlike you who was Christmas shopping at the time, I was actually at The Valley for the 7-6 Huddersfield game

.Unfortunately one of the directors of Morecambe , Peter Cross sent his company into liquidation ( 1 million debts) a year and a half a go and reopened under a very slightly different name, knocking this Charlton fan for about 30k .
no scruples and if we ever play them I may just have to visit the directors box .

By the way, if anyone is wondering why a Londoner like me would want to move to Morecambe, not only is it a beautiful part of the world, friendly and cheap, it is also a suburb of Lancaster which is only 4 stops and two and a half hours from Euston on The West Coast Line and probably easier to get to by train from London than either Hastings or the Thanet resorts. I also have The Lake District practically on my doorstep and a progressive little football club blessed with "Charlton like" supporters a ten minute walk away. Morecambe FC are a real family club, play in red and white and have a lot in common with CAFC (me included)

In reply to "anonymous", I suppose that never happens in London then!!!

@Terry, I knew they were a non-league club for a long time. I was looking at the house prices and I could see that they were some bargains even by Midlands standards. I may well take up on your offer to call in, as I am tempted to come back.

Hi Wyn. You will be very welcome, I might even treat you to a pint in The Ranch House on the seafront (my local), that also applies to any Charlton fan who happens to pass this way too!
