Richard Murray is in sole charge of Charlton after yesterday's extraordinary general meeting, but three members of the old board are back on the new one: Richard Hatter, Stuart Butler-Gallie (the non-executive director who wrote the explanatory letter) and David White. Sir maurice Hatter has reportedly offered to give £100k to the running costs of the Academy if he can get matching donations.
The club is hoping to make three signings this week,so perhaps there is something in the Benson story. Murray putting in £5m to cover a £4m loss, plus outstanding liabilities.
For Jonjo Shelvey we get £250k for every 10 appearances that he makes on top of £1.7 original fee, up to a 60 games limit. There is a sell on clause plus a bonus for an England cap. But the £1.7m was factored so it is only worth £1.5m.
King's Hill Addick attended and has an excellent report.
