Richard Cawley of the SLP reports, 'Finally, finally we *might* have some good news coming on Lee Bowyer. Talks are beginning to move in the right direction.' Cawley has just spoken to Bowyer and 'I think his quote that "now we are negotiating" means there is something of a breakthrough'.
The jaded journo added, 'We're not there yet in terms of it being sorted. But the fact he is talking about coming to an agreement is a positive - it's looked decidedly dicey at times this week that we'd get a positive resolution.'
Bowyer commented: 'All I wanted was to be treated fairly. And now we have started negotiating. Hopefully we can come to an agreement.'
Roland Duchatelet has said that he has taken personal charge of the negotiations. Presumably this does not involve him leaving Belgium, but I would be interested to hear of any sightings in London.
