Gone for a Burton

Deon Burton is weighing up his future and although Charlton are preparing a new offer for the much-travelled 33-year old it looks as if his future will be elsewhere. Notts County are making an offer, but he has also received an offer from a European club which would substantially boost his wages: Burton

Burton has been much criticised during his time at Charlton for the fact that he was not a 20-goal a year striker. In some ways he was a rather Leaburnesque player with other qualities such as being able to hold up the ball. He was certainly not uniwlling to get stuck in, even though I suspect that he was playing with an injury for much of the season.
