New keeper signs

Charlton have made their latest network signing with Marko Dmitrovic joining on an 18-month contract from Ujpest. He is a under 21 international for Serbia. He is seen as competition for Etheridge, with Henderson facing a long spell out injured and Nick Pope off to Bury (Lancashire, that is, not his old club, Bury Town): Network shuffle

Ethridge looks at best no better than Pope so can't understand why we have signed him and let Pope go on loan, when all he just needed is a few more games to gain his confidence. Ethridge in his games so far has absolutely no command of his area he stays routed to his line for crosses and corners!

And why have we also signed another keeper who has hardly played in a much lower league, as Ethridges understudy, it makes no sense at all!

We can only hope that this year's network import goalkeeper is decidedly better than last year's! We've signed 3 players, with 2 fees being paid and received by the same man and his family and the other fee being £0. You've got to admit that, if it works, it makes a sort of financial sense in these times of FPR but it does rather limit the pool of potential signings. Let's hope that we pay another owner real money for a midfielder soon.
