Bob Peeters has reacted to his dismissal from Charlton. He said that he was very disappointed. "What kind of person is Katrien Meire? I ask myself now. In the beginning we could work well together, but I regularly reacted against her. The fans also saw that reinforcements were needed," says Peeters.
He thinks that the club was exaggerating the extent of the problems. "There were clear goals in the beginning of the season. This season we had to have a quiet season with a very young team. We were thirteenth with 31 points. The results were less good the last weeks, I admit."
Promises were however made to Peeters. "When two days before your resignation they guarantee you that you can stay, it is strange that you get sacked on Sunday." Difficulties with English staff members seem to have been a trigger.
"It is strange that nothing was said to me. Strange that an assistant can ultimately determine the fate of the head coach." Normally Peeters would never respond after a lay off. "Now I make an exception, because things have appeared [in the press] that are not right. I was hailed by players and fans."
Some players will now have to collaborate again with Guy Luzon, the man who didn’t need them at Standard. "Some of them are not at all satisfied, but that’s none of my business anymore," said the disgruntled Peeters.

In my view the three of them have been hard done by.
Powell and Peeters were not supported properly by the owner, both squads just needed stability and reinforcing. And Riga was not rewarded. Sacking one manager who's doing ok is bizarre, sacking 3 inside a few months seems unusual if not suicidal. The question is do we get groundhog day when Sir Alex arrives. A top six finish and the boot or what. Wake me up when this sweaty nightmares over. Roly needs a shrink.
Agree with Anon's posting at 16.50. You can't make a silk purse out of a pig's ear ! Amazingly Powell, Riga and Peeters did so with varying degrees of success. RD needs to understand that running a football club is very much a people business both in terms of those who follow the club as well as engaging competent and experienced personnel in all relevant areas including playing staff and management. This Club requires stability. It will not succeed if based upon shifting sands !
god help us.i wish rich arabs brought our beloved club.i really dont like want is going on at our beloved charlton .roly is brainless about football.i wont be renewing my season ticket next season
Where the f**k is Murray in all this!!!! I thought I heard him say once that he was a Charlton supporter and !over the club. Speak up for the supporters you claim to be one of and show some balls unless you are now part of Roland rat's regime !!!!!!
Bob, you've just talked yourself out of a 6 month contract at FC Carl Zeiss Jena where RD was going to unveil you as an 'extremely talented coach'......
I don't blame Bob for accepting the job, but he must have known Roland's a basket case. What worries me is the January picture. If I was a player I'd rather go to a friendly stable club than one run by Joe Stalin!
If he'd lost the players big time then he had to go and we are not privy to this information. But even if it was justified the buck still stops with Roly who choose him over Riga.
anyway im a bit shell shocked ive just discovered im related to Catherine howard jesus!
Has that got anything to do with anything?
That's Franky's sister, that is.
'Ik werd op handen gedragen'
..........that's easy for him to say
Flawed management strategy. Bob didn't have a chance.
Catherine Howard Jesus - another network flop.
