A signing today

The authoritative Richard Cawley of the SLP has said that Charlton will be making their first signing of the transfer window today. I have no idea who that might be, but Lee Bowyer hopes they will be available for tomorrow night's game at Swansea City.

There are indications that it may be a young Premier League player coming in on loan. If he is anywhere near as good as Conor Gallagher, he will be very welcome.

The sober supremo has told Cawley about his plans for the transfer window. The sagacious supremo hopes to make at least three new signings: How many transfer deals he would like

Until the takeover is completed and approved by the EFL, any such deals will need approval by 'good old Roly' as he has been termed on social media.

One Addick made a good point on Twitter: 'I reckon the new owners are happy for there to be some ambiguity about the EFL approval situation when in reality it’s probably all going smoothly. Once they are formally announced everyone will put their asking prices up.'

Rumours that Glenn Murray is the target have been scotched by Richard Cawley and Louis Mendez. I'm off to the A46 derby and will find out this evening.
