Darren Bent has boarded a plane for 'oop north, fully equipped to send tweets. Spurs have been holding out for near the £16.5m they paid Charlton (rather the company that bought the debt) for him, but it looks as if they are going to settle for £14m.
Barnsley manager Simon Davey admits he is frustrated that he has not been able to complete the signing of Charlton striker Andy Gray. A deal to bring the 31-year-old to Oakwell was agreed three weeks ago, but it is claimed that the current proposed takeover at the Valley is causing a delay.
'The frustrating thing is we are on other people's time scales,' the exasperated supremo told BBC Radio Sheffield. 'I have to decide whether to persevere with it or go elsewhere.'
Given Gray's appearance at Bournemouth, this could mean a takeover deal this week and a new ability to pay what is believed to be the striker's five figure weekly salary. Or it could mean nothing at all.

I'm just not convinced we want him Wyn, regardless if we have the money or not.

Neither am I. I am by no means sure it would be a positive development.
I am not convinced that either of you have watched any League One football. Anyone who thinks a fit Andy Gray would not be able to do a job at L1 (or indeed Championship) level, is clearly either...

The only issue here is the fact that Andy Gray can play at a higher level and these days it is his choice where he plays. Publishing negative comments will ensure we lose yet another competent player to a club which shouldn't be in a higher division and paying more wages than us. One negative outweighs 20,000 positives....
So all those Charlton players thinking of leaving are scanning the blogs, waiting for one negative comment, regardless of the 19999 positive ones they may received, and only then deciding its time for them to move on.
Well I never.

For what it matters, I watched quite a lot of League 1 football when Rushden and Diamonds were in that division. But I am sure that players do not read blogs or, even if they do, take them seriously. No one should take them that seriously.
Methinks anonymous IS Andy Gray.
If we can afford it, and he's prepared to stay, I'd definitely keep him. Takes a good penalty, and was still our second top scorer last season (I think).
Which really demonstrates how we lack goals in our team though. Apart from Bailey where are the goals coming from, we seem to have no width (apart from the unreliable Sam) and no real centre forwards that know where the goal is without Gray.
All be sorted at the Board Meeting on Weds.Takeover transfers etc
