Phil 'he's got to go' Parkinson has been nominated for the npower League One Manager of the Month award, while Johnnie Jackson is on a short list of three for Player of the Month.
Jackson has come in for a lot of criticism since his return to The Valley and at one time his signing was being cited as another poor decision by Parky. Admittedly, he is better playing further forward than at left back where Fry is more solid. What Jackson is able to do is to run on to a scoring opportunity from midfield.
Unfortunately, the Manager of the Month award often leads to a downward turn in a side's fortunes.

And according to the Castrol LMA Managers' Performance table, Parky is *THE BEST* manager in the whole of the football league for the second quarter of this season, beating Alex Ferguson into second place.

Stats... don't you just love them!
I bet we don't win either, even with Curbs on the panel!
Wyn, I'm not sure from your post whether you was/are one of the doubters, but I have to say I haven't heard of JJ getting 'a lot of criticism'.
In fact, rather than your suggestion that he was being cited as another poor decision by Parky, I would say that he's been one of the more consistant and steady performers. Granted he wasn't setting the world alight until more recently, but it should be remembered that JJ classes himself as an attacking, ball-playing central-midfielder (and we can see why he prefers a more advanced role), and as such, he's spent the first dozen and more games out of his favoured position.
On another subject...
What's your thoughts on the take-over speculation?
I've certainly not a doubter but there was criticism, e.g., on the Glynne Jones list, although some poeple will moan about anyone or anything. On the takeover, I find the presence of Peter Varney reassuring.

- Alex Ferguson doesn't manage in the Football League.
