Reza for Kuwait?

According to Fars News Agency quoting Youm al-Jadid. Reza Ghoochannejhad, has signed for Al Kuwait. He is currently in Cairo where the club is holding a training camp to finalise the deal: Reza's move . The official site has now confirmed that he has gone on a year's loan, so no fee will be involved.

He was conspicuous by his absence at the Family Fun Day on Sunday.

Notwithstanding a wonder goal at Leeds, I would not greatly regret his departure as I think he found the Championship hard to cope with. However, it does help to explain the club's efforts to take a risk with Andy Delort.

Pessimists are suggesting that Delort could be another Reza, unable to cope with the Championship. Ligue 2 is not the equivalent of the Championship, but neither is it the Ryman Premier League as some seem to be suggesting.

Elsewhere, a well-written review of the current regime at The Valley is available here: Roland

I'm not sure I learnt anything new from it, but it is interesting to read how neutrals see us.

Good article in the link.

Roland is a businessman! He did what he had to do last season, thanked Riga and now is investing in BP and his plans.

Excepting the Champions League, the rewards in the Championship must be quite similar to the Juliper League??. However, the rewards for Premiership are much higher. I would like to think that he has the aim of taking us to the Premiership. Then it would benefit us loaning out our fringe (or even quality) players to Liege, especially if they get Champions League experience.

It would be interesting to know how much money he has spent on players for each of his clubs over the summer. Does anyone have that info? He is already giving us players that he has paid good money for. GT does look good!

My only concern would be that he has more pride in being Belgian and wants Liege to be more of a success, so he can be seen as some sort of hero in his own country. Don't know how that fits with his personality though.

One thing I do know is that it wouldn't hurt for CAFC supporters to get behind him, and make him feel loved over here.

Will just have to wait and see. Still feeling positive though. Sad to see people both here and on Twitter being so negative.

On the Reza front, would have no objections to him leaving as long as we get decent money to reinvest

Keep up the good work Wyn :-)

I liked Reza and thought that he showed his potential in the World Cup but he obviously wanted to move on. It's only a loan and there are no detaild about options to purchase, so we've probably only gained financially by not having to pay all or a part of his salary. However, I'm happy with Vetokele and Tucudean, although I'd be a little worried about our strike power throughout the season if we don't secure Delort or some other regular goalscorer.
At the moment, I'm happy with the investment that RD has made in players and facilities. It all goes to show just how badly off we were for the last 15 months or so under the last owners, who could well have been Maruman Mark 2, although there is no suggestion that they traded in military hardware.
