Will we get Delort after all?

I have never known a transfer saga as long and complex as this one, but it appears that Tours have not yet concluded a deal to sell Andy Delort to Wigan: Delort

What is more a rival club have made a larger bid of their own which includes the offer of an intriguing link up with the Tours training centre. Charlton would be in a position to make such an offer.

The Tours statement reads: 'There have been a number of rumours that suggest Andy Delort is going everywhere in Europe (Germany, England, Belgium, Spain, France…) since the beginning go the transfer window. The latest has been suggesting that he has found an agreement with English side Wigan. At the moment, not a single agreement has been found with this club, even if discussions are ongoing. Discussions are also underway with several other clubs. A more important offer has been made by another British side, one which includes a club partnership which is very interesting for the youth system at Tours. The window is not closed, and official informations will be communicated via the club’s official website.'

The latest news (Friday evening) is that Wolverhampton Wanderers are now favourites to sign the player.

I was watching a re run of mk s win against london united sorry manchester united last night,i thourght the front strikers had a stormer also i like Ben Afobe this player has bags of pace would terrorise the championship. How about Burtons McGurk rumoured last year that we seriously looking at him and preparing to make a bid before powell got sacked these players would be ideal if they came to charlton bags of pace and both seem to know where the goal is also what about a cheeky loan offer for darren Bent get him fit again with villa paying the wages!Their are better options to take than this andy bloke

Well, JA, whilst I particularly like the idea of having Bent playing for us for free, I still would like us to sign Delort as that would be a long term proposition. Let's face it, the new owners and management haven't put a step wrong so far with their acquisitions, so If they want him, I believe that he'll be good.

Daggs, if he is useless why are so many clubs interested? Presumably they have scouted him. I think he is a risky signing but his track record in Ligue 2 last year was excellent. People keep writing it off as the equivalent of the English non-league, but it's not.

At 22 years old at least we'd be able to sell him on if he didn't do that great.

Also, I presume that a club from Kuwait will be paying Reza's wages and monthly loan fee. We should have some funds to work with.

He could be another Polish Pete!
West Ham and Benfica were scouting him and he looks useless. We have offered Tours what we think he is worth and it is a risk as he has only done it for one season in a weaker league.

Wyn. I didn't say he was useless. I said i know nothing about him.
My point was; we seem to have chased him for months. How laughable it would be if we eventually sign him and he turns out useless.
I don't often agree with Ackworth. But i reckon D.Bent on loan would be a better bet.

I wouldn't disagree that it's a risk, but the reason I think it's a risk worth taking is the cover we have if either George or Igor or injured. There are question marks about Piggott can make the grade and Church does not deliver goals that often. Moussa is really an attacking midfielder and does not always take chances. It would be great to have Bent on loan, but is that likely?

Bent can't be an option. We'd have to pay at least 50% of his wages which must be £50k plus

Brian says ' Let's face it, the new owners and management haven't put a step wrong so far with their acquisitions,'.

Apart from the majority of the January Signings who were not up to the job for one reason or another.

The summer intake is better but £700,000 allegedly for Polish Pete ? You need to withdraw the claim that there has been no mistakes. Anything else is a rewriting of history.

and I did say 'the new owners and management' and that's what I meant. The loan and other signings were generally poor under Powell and Riga but the signings under Peeters have been impressive. We're only talking football - there's no need to rewrite history.

Bent clearly wants out at villa you can see it in his body language hes not happy playing for lambert i think a fresh challenge for bent would be just what the player needs away from donkey football under a donkey manager in lambert.
Bent would im sure jump at the chance of joining charlton whom he had good reputation with home fans ,if we could do a deal with villa say they pay all his wages and we have first option on bent if we win promoation ,tv money will be around 120m when we go up so i think we can afford bent on that money.
