Cardiff City are reported to be interested in Marcus Bent at a realistic fee of a little over £1 million. However, the striker has not yet visited South Wales.
Birmingham City are also reported to have expressed an interest in Bent. The 'Second City' has a lively nightlife.

I thought the problem with Bent was his motivation and, in particular, that he thinks he is "too good" for the CCC. If he is prepared to play at that level after all, couldn't he do a good job for us? Let's be realistic, like him or not, if Pardew could get him committed and playing for the team he would be a significant improvement on what we had last season and, potentially, an ideal foil for the likes of Varney, Dickson, Fleetwood and perhaps even McCleod. I'm sure the majority won't agree with these sentiments, but a degree of pragmatism is often very valuable.

I think the major problem with M.Bent is the £25,000/week he reputedly 'earns'
He is not seen in the club as a team player.
Any money offered for this bone idle slapper magnet would have to be grabbed before the potential purchaser sobers up. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
