Two clubs in for Big Chris

Wolves and Crystal Palace have expressed an interest in Charlton striker Chris Iwelumo. The Glaziers are apparently prepared to offer £600,000, which is not far short of the club's valuation of around £750,000. However, there would not be big wage savings as he is not on a big salary.

I suspect that the majority of Charlton fans will be pleased to see him go. I thought he did what was on the can: an average Championship striker for an average Championship team.

Today's Observer claims that not only does Warnock want to buy Big Chis, but thast he also wants to buy Super Kevin Lisbie from Colchester to create a partnership which will strike fear in defences throughout the championship. No, seriously, I haven't made this up.

Although I don't think Iwelumo deserves the amount of stick he gets from Charlton fans, I think this would be a good deal for us. Realistically he's now 3rd choice target man behind Gray and Todorov. He is harshly treated by refs so would fit in well with Scowcroft at Palace.
